We've all been there before. We see the phone of our significant other lying around and get tempted to go through it. Going through his phone demonstrates a lack of trust and is an invasion of privacy and is completely wrong no matter how you justify it. The most common excuse for checking his phone is “I wanted a peace of mind”, or” just to make sure” Don’t lie to yourself! This is not about a “peace of mind”, This is about a lack of trust. If you’re the “just making sure” girl and need relationship reassurance then that starts with you TRUSTING him. Take his word for what he says to you(TRUST), give him the benefit of the doubt rather than assume the worst. If you can’t do this, maybe you’re not ready for a serious relationship yet and should abort mission now! Or you are with the completely wrong guy!!!!
Another common excuse is “I was just curious”. Well just because you may be “Curious” about what it would feel like to get shot doesn't mean you should go out and try it. I’m sure most of us are familiar with the popular saying “Curiosity killed the cat” or in this case the relationship. What will end up happening is; you will most likely misinterpret a message that you find and confront him, then he in turn will get angry at the false accusations and come to the conclusion that you were snooping through his phone.
Moral of the story, DON’T DO IT! I know sometimes we all get a little insecure, but you should be comfortable enough with your partner to just talk about it rather than go through his things. A relationship will never be able to thrive and grow without TRUST!
