The Most Important Things I Learned in 2015.
by- Lori Ann

2015 was by far one of the most challenging years I’ve had as an adult, but as Buddha once said “Every experience, no matter how bad it seems, holds within it a blessing of some kind. The goal is to find it.” Those blessings came to me in the form of lessons, some of the most important lessons I've learned. I’m sharing these with you today so you won’t have to learn the hard way, as I did!

1. SELF LOVE- As J.Cole so eloquently put it, “Love yourself girl or nobody will.” It is important to build a healthy relationship with your mind, body, and soul. Be grateful for all the unique qualities and features that make you YOU!
2. CONFIDENCE- Wear that crop top if it makes you feel sexy! Wear your hair natural if that’s what you want! Who cares what society thinks! We are the society. Dress for your own approval and not the approval of others.
3. COURAGE- Never be afraid to stick up for yourself,  and never be afraid to say no! Whether it be to drugs or alcohol, or something as simple as loaning money. You always have the option to say no! Never let anyone make you feel bad for your choice!
4. SAVE- Every grown woman should have a savings account!!! A good starting point is 10% of your pay and at least 3 months living expenses.
5. ALWAYS BE TRUTHFUL- The truth shall set you set you free!! In all seriousness though, the truth, no matter how bad it might be, is always better than a lie.
6. BUILD MEANINGFUL FRIENDSHIPS- Sure you have 1,000 friends and Facebook, but how many of them can you count on to be there for you? It is important to build friendships that are deeper than gossiping and drinking and smoking. Make friends who you can cry with, who support and believe in you!
7. FIND A HOBBY- Photography, writing, reading, running, anything that doesn’t involve alcohol!
8. GIRL POWER- Never judge, shame, or feel intimidated by another woman! Instead we should inspire, uplift and help build each other up!
I hope these help you as much as they helped me! Share some of your life-lessons with me. If this article helped you in any way, share it and keep the positivity flowing.
